
Why you are on board with
the Career Blueprint well-being mission?
Wellbeing is something I have struggled with as a coach personally. Having prioritised my athletes, sporting programs and career over my own wellbeing, I’ve suffered from lack of sleep, irritability and the sense that I could never keep up with the workload at the expense of other areas of life. Now I’m putting my wellbeing back at the top of my priorities after the realisation that you need to put your own gas mask on before helping others. I feel Josh and the guys at Career Blueprint have taken the mantle and are proactive in driving this agenda forward.
A bit about me the person
I’m ashamed to say it but I’ve poured so much into my career over the last decade that it hasn’t left a lot of time for hobbies! But since taking greater control of my career, time and resources I’ve been developing more interests outside of my work! These include getting out and about with wife Alex and my chocolate Labrador Rex, as well developing some outdoor survival skills. I’m hoping to add learning Scottish Gaelic and master some board sports like wake boarding, surfing and snowboarding in the future too!

A bit about me the practitioner
For the last 5 years Rob lead the Youth Athletic Development program for Scottish Rugby in the Borders Regional Academy and Caledonia Regional Academy working with athletes across the U16, U18, U20 and Women’s National Team Squad. His passion for World Class youth athlete development lead to him joining the LTAD Network as a Regional Affilliate, as well as hosting the LTAD Network Podcast. Rob regularly presents to a variety of audiences for clubs, schools and organisations on all facets of youth athletic development.
A bit about what I do now
Rob created Athletic Evolution to provide best practice in the athletic development and coaching of young athletes. He is dedicated to improving the quality of athletic development training delivered to young athletes.
